Harmonics and resonances are feedback effects that cause significant problems in modern electrical grids and installations. This is driven by the decline of installed conventional loads and the rapidly increasing use of frequency-controlled loads.

To ensure stable operation of connected equipment, additional measures must be taken to limit grid feedback to acceptable levels
(EN 50160 / EN 61000-2-x).

This reduces the risk of significantly increased distribution losses and the resulting overheating of cables and transformers. In addition, accelerated aging and the failure risk of electronic loads are minimized.
